Children's Projects

SDT was proud to sponsor the YLC 2010 Project Prodigy Summer Music Camp:

 

We were again able to help St. Tammany with their Spring Fling in 2009.

The kids at Trist middle, St Bernard Middle, Chalmette High enjoyed the 12/10/08 Hornets game against Charlotte when SDT donated 200 Hornets tickets to their schools.

SDT has given away 250 Hornets tickets to St. Bernard schools for a recent game. Schools include Chalmette High's four basketball teams, band and cheerleaders, Trist Middle School boys and girls basketball teams and St. Bernard Middle School boys and girls basketball teams.

We support the Umoja Village at the Celebration of the African American Child.

SDT has provided VooDoo Football season tickets for the Boys and Girls Club youth program.

 

 

Music has found its way back into the St. Bernard Public School System thanks to several generous donations including one from SDT Waste and Debris Services. The Children's Hospital Volleyball Classic 2007 and 2008 as well as the 10th Annual Run Forrest Run 5k.

SDT has given away 1000 Hornets tickets to St. Bernard, Jefferson Parish, St Charles, St John and St Tammany schools for the 2008 - 2009 Hornets basketball games.

SDT provided 100 Hornets tickets to The New Orleans Charter Science and Mathematics School - "SciHigh." The tickets were presented the top and the most improved students. Here are the kid's responses.

We support the Kids Against Trash project, which succeeded in removing over 250,000 tons of Katrina debris.

We work with United Care USA to promote awareness via literature for the prevention of child abuse, abduction, and exploitation.

Our sponsorships include the St. Tammany "Spring Fling," the McDonogh No. 15 5k Run for the Arts, the Year of the Teacher (response) and the 2008 Greek Festival.

We've donated our Superfresh products to schools including Bonne Ecole Elementary:

Our custodians have been using it daily in all of our restrooms and this product has made a big difference! The restrooms have a fresh smell to them and, most importantly, they are very clean.

Public Works Projects

SDT was proud to contribute to the Big Easy Redfish Cup Invitational and to the Folsom Car Show.

SDT has roots in St. Bernard! We've participated in St. Bernard beautification projects, including planting cypress trees in Chalmette.

Recent sponsorships include the Lower Quarter Crime Watch Block Party and the JPPSS Dance Challenge.

Fundraising efforts have begun with $10,000 donations from SDT Waste and Debris, a post-Katrina St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce grant and donations from individuals.

SDT has worked on several projects with the Katrina Krewe, a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up New Orleans.

We worked with the New Orleans Hospitality Commission to help the NOPD 5th District Command Center move out of FEMA trailers and back into buildings. Read the response by the NOPD.

Sidney D. Torres, IV serves on the board of Keep Louisiana Beautiful.

SDT donated and participated in the Jefferson Chamber New Teacher Reception.

SDT is a proud sponsor of Tour de Lis in 2008.

We have enjoyed working with Samaritan's Purse for disaster relief ministries since Hurricane Katrina.

We've also been privileged to assist Bridge House.

We are proud to support the Robert Strong Fund.
